101110-jm_main.jpgJM De Guzman is getting ready for his most challenging role yet in the upcoming teleserye Angelito, Batang Ama. He said that just like what the title suggests, he will portray an underaged father.

The 23-year-old actor shared that he has started losing weight to look more like a 17-year old. For a month now, JM said that he has been taking rice out of his meals, which is not easy for him.

In the project, JM will also reunite with former leading lady, Charee Pineda with whom he has worked with in the previous teleserye Alyna, top-billed by Shaina Magdayao. JM added that since they worked together before, working with Charee is a breeze.

When asked about the possibility of a real-life romance with his leading lady, JM replied, “Mahirap ‘yon baka ‘pag naging kami dun na mawala, ‘dun maaapektuhan [ang magandang working relationship].

Apart from being the lead actor, JM feels prouder all the more because he gets to have the title role.

In a previous interview, JM admitted to Push.com.ph that he had many shortcomings in his previous teleserye Mula Sa Puso but he is open to learning. When recently asked about some of his important realizations in acting, he answered, “One thing na nantutunan ko sa work lalo na sa Mula sa Puso, huwag masyadong mag-isip kasi armado naman ako. Relax [lang dapat], gawin lang ang trabaho in a relaxed way. ‘Pag nati-tense ka parati, wala na.”

The actor, who also released his debut album a month ago, continued that he will be setting aside his music in the meantime to focus on his acting career. “Alam naman nila ‘yun, from the very beginning priority ko ang acting.”
