083111-pokwang_main.jpgIn her very first starring role, Pokwang takes on a dramatic role in TFC and Star Cinema’s movie entitled A Mother’s Story. She plays an illegal immigrant in the U.S. who takes up odd jobs to earn money for her children back home. In fairness sa director at writers namin, talagang piniga nila ako.”

As a former OFW herself, Pokwang shared that she didn’t have much difficulty internalizing her character.

Although it took this long before she was given a solo movie by ABS-CBN, Pokwang stressed that there’s no sense feeling hurt for that matter.

Joining Pokwang in this movie are Xyriel Manabat, Rayver Cruz, Nonie Buencamino, Ana Capri, and Daria Ramirez with the special participation of Beth Tamayo.

A Mother’s Story will be shown in theatres on September 28.
