Jaclyn Jose was very emotional as she confirmed in an interview with TV Patrol that her daughter Andi Eigenmann was four months pregnant. As to the identity of the father of Andi’s baby, Jaclyn only said, “Former boyfriend, first boyfriend. Iniwan na siya nung mabuntis siya.”
While news of the young star’s pregnancy spread quickly, speculations arose as to the identity of the father. Jake Ejercito, son of former President Joseph Estrada to former actress Laarni Enriquez who once had a relationship with Andi, was the most likely suspect. But on his Twitter account, Jake denied that he was the father. "I'd just like to ask everyone not to jump into conclusions and misinterpret what has been said. I am not Andi's first boyfriend. Let us just respect and pray for her, her baby, and family.”
In a tweet she posted on her Twitter account last June 30 around 8:10 pm, Andi also made it clear that Jake was not the father. “For your better understanding, I've only had one boyfriend before Jake whom I've only been seeing for the past 2 months. Therefore, Jake cannot be the said ex-boyfriend whom everyone has been talking about.” The actress ended her tweet with the hashtag #commonsense.
Aside from Jake, another suspect was Mara Clara actor Albie Casiño, also an ex-boyfriend of Andi. Coming to his defense was Albie’s mother, Rina Casiño, who posted on her Twitter account. “No one's denying nor confirming. Just saying he is not her first BF and I didn't hear Ms. Jaclyn say Albie did you?"
But for Jaclyn, it’s no longer important to go after the man who got her daughter pregnant. “Forget about kung sino man ‘yan. Our focus is for Andi to get healthy, the baby to come out strong and healthy.”
The veteran actress also figured it’s best that the man will not anymore involve himself with Andi and the baby. “Wala akong hinihiling sa kanila, ni ayaw ko silang makita. Leave us alone. We’re going to do okay.”
Maxene Eigenmann, the half-sister of Andi, had this message to the father of the child. “No hate at all. Thank you na magiging cute ‘yung inaanak ko, ha ha ha!”
Maxene told TV Patrol that the whole Eigenmann family is supporting Andi as she prepares herself for the responsibilities of motherhood, particularly their father, veteran actor Mark Gil. “I just told her that she should not underestimate her strength. She’s one of the strongest people I know,” shared Maxene.
Maxene once found herself becoming an unwed mother at a young age. Maxene first got pregnant when she was 17, and now at 23 she is already a mother of two. She said that doesn’t allow herself be bothered by the criticisms from other people regarding her state. “I’m not married. At first people will say things about that. But I’m a good mother and I do my best.”
