Nash Aguas directs ABS-CBNmobile’s ‘Coffee Break’.
Nash Aguas made his directorial debut in ABS-CBNmobile’s new digital sitcom Coffee Break. The young actor relayed he conceptualized the story of the mobile series which paved the way for him to direct it.
“Concept ko ‘tong Coffee Break. Parang dahil ako rin ang nakakaalam, parang baby project ko siya so sabi nila ‘Ikaw na lang mag-direk, kumbaga dahil gamay mo na kung papaano ‘yung dynamics ng character and stuff,’” he shared.
Coffee Break follows the story of a group of friends as they discuss problems, issues, and life lessons over coffee. Most of the story is told from the point of view of a barista, who plays as the witness to the barkada’s lives.
Nash is currently in his third year as a film student. He shared that he has always been interested in directing since he was little. The Kapamilya star admitted that directing the series has been challenging but he does enjoy the journey.
“Actually mahirap na fulfilling and enjoy kasi ganon naman po pag-gusto mo ‘yung ginagwa mo, parang ‘yung pagod wala na ‘yan eh. Minsan galing ako ng The Good Son taping, derecho na sa taping ng Coffee Break pero fulfilling ‘yung pakiramdam eh, nakakatuwa. Sa una ‘yung first taping nangangapa, siyempre lahat kailangan intindihin mo pero masaya,” he said.
Asked if he plans to go full time with directing and leave acting behind someday, Nash replied, “Opo gusto ko pong mag-full time director talaga pero ‘yung iiwanan ko ang pag-arte feeling ko hindi kasi parang sobrang nag i-enjoy talaga ako sa pag-arte. Siguro parang magiging main work ko ‘yung [pagiging] director pero mag-aartista pa rin ako kahit pakonti-konti,” he stated.
Coffee Break premiered this January and features Nash’s former Goin’ Bulilit co-stars. To access ABS-CBNmobile Exclusives, ABS-CBNmobile users must have an active SIM with an Internet connection (3G or WiFi). Subscribers can dial *128# and subscribe to KSURF promo loads to get value for their money.
