The Gonzaga sisters share their realizations from putting up a business.
Toni and Alex Gonzaga opened a pop-up store for their business venture Happy Cup yesterday, August 12, along Mother Ignacia Avenue, Quezon City just right across ABS-CBN. Despite their hectic working schedules, the sisters are very hands on when it comes to their “passion project”.
“Super ngayon naging hands on. Sabi ko ang hirap pala noh, ang dali nong sa atin, kakanta lang tayo, magpapa-make up, magho-host, tapos na. Ito talaga hindi, from start to finish. And maraming nangyayaring problems that occur during the operation na kailangan magawan agad ng solution,” Toni said.
Now that they are managing their own business, Alex has realized how challenging it is to become an entrepreneur. “Ang hirap mag-business, nakaka-stress siya talaga. Sabi ng ate ang sarap-sarap pala ng buhay na ‘yung kakanta ka lang. Pero ‘yung work behind the business kaya ngayon iba na ‘yung respeto ko sa lahat ng mga businessman.” she admitted.
When it comes to the division of work for their business, Alex relayed that she is more focused on the operations and manpower. “Don ako sa sino ang tao ngayon, anong kailangan, ang ate more on sa marketing, sa look,” Alex shared.
They already have six branches of Happy Cup but the Mother Ignacia branch is their very first pop-up store. “This is our sixth pero tawag namin sa kanya first pop-up store because it’s not like a cafe shop na pwede kang tumambay. It is really a drink na you buy and then you can go for takeout. We’ve put some chairs para while waiting sakaling madami ang mga tao,” she said.
Toni shared that everything really fell into place when they decided to put up the business. “Meron kaagad available na lugar, ‘yung mga stock, everything talagang really come together Sabi namin, pinag-pray namin, baka talagang meant to be,” she stated.
