Sharon Cuneta: “I really didn’t think I would be given a chance to shine again in a movie”
In ANC’s Talkback, Megastar Sharon Cuneta opened up about her struggles and triumphs this year and one of the good things that happened to her was starring in the film Unexpectedly Yours.
Many knew this year has not been easy for the Megastar since a lot of her loved ones passed away.
“Totally unexpected. I thought the year wouldn’t end any differently than it has started. I lost direk Wenn [Deramas], that was last year but I never got to mourn in public. I was even in the States when he passed away (…) and I did Your Face Sounds Familiar and The Voice, these are the two things in work that I was most thankful for,” she said.
“I really didn’t think I would be given a chance to shine again in a movie like this. I did my first indie (film) but that’s, you know, we all know that’s totally different from a mainstream commercial movie,” she added, saying that it has been seven years since her last mainstream film.
The indie film she was referring to was Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha.
In her previous interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda, an emotional Sharon said, “I miss me.” She then clarified that she was not talking about her career.
“When I said ‘I miss me’ I wasn’t really referring to my career. So now I’m pretty okay, but I’m still missing that half (of me). I’ve always… well I’ve never had that half I always wanted anyway so,” she said.
